A BIT ABOUT ME:
I am the proud mother of a daughter, Gariel, a 2017 graduate of Campbell University with a biology degree/pre-physical therapy. I also have a son, Baldwin who is a sophomore at East Carolina University, majoring in biology/pre-dental. I love them both, as well as their dad, my husband, Gary. I admire my husband for having served as a NC State Highway Patrolman for over thirty-two years! This 2019-2020 school year is my twenty-ninth plus years of teaching, and I am certified in both science and language arts. I received a bachelor's degree in mass communications from NC Agricultural and Technical State University. And I received my teacher certification upon attending Campbell University. Before teaching, three of my favorite jobs included serving as a radio announcer for radio stations; a reporter and photographer for a small newspaper; and a television news photographer/editor for an independent network. I decided to teach because of the passion I possess for education and the compassion I have for young children. As a teacher, my greatest hope is that all children realize how empowering knowledge is... Soak it up, and use it to benefit themselves as well as others. Reading magazines, going to the movies (eating movie popcorn), relaxing, and family outings are among my most enjoyable pastimes! Yes, I love food, crab legs and lobster tails are my favorites... And chocolate! A self accomplishment that amazes me, I have not had a soda/soft drink since November, 2004, almost fifteen years!
